About
Carolina Greetings started because I got a dog.
Yes, that sounds silly, but it’s the truth. In 2020, right about the time of the pandemic, I got a new dog - a Red Tick Coon Hound named Sage. She is a bundle of energy and needs a good long walk every day. Right about the same time, I got one of those checks for $1,200 from Uncle Sam. Well, with that $1,200, I bought my first real camera, which of course led to 4 or 5 more cameras before I figured out what I really needed and of course lots of lenses and all the other photography toys that go along with that hobby. So, since I was taking the dog on long walks in the woods anyway, I started bringing my camera along and trying to take a few pictures. I have to admit that when I started, I had no clue what most of the dials and buttons on the camera did. I just put it in auto mode and hoped for the best. Over time, I learned what I was doing and photography became a bit of an obsession. I started bringing the camera on all my hikes and looking for new places to shoot. I developed a special passion for photographing birds and other wildlife.
Last summer, I decided to start printing some of my photos, so I got an Epson photo printer. This led to starting to print note cards as presents for friends and family, which eventually led to me starting this little business. I don’t think I will be challenging Hallmark anytime soon, but I hope you like the cards. Some are printed at home and others are printed by a local print shop, but all feature my photos. No AI in these - what you see is what I saw.
